Journalists were insulted by entering the Khulna Press Club, protesting by blocking the road

Miscreants entered the Khulna Press Club and assaulted the working journalists. This incident happened on Sunday around 6 pm. Journalists protested against this.

Immediately after the incident, journalists stationed at the press club started protesting. They blocked the road in front of the press club and demanded quick arrest and exemplary punishment of the attackers.

Press club convener Enamul Haque presided over the protest programme. He said, such attack on journalists is a direct attack on independent media. Those involved should be brought to justice immediately.

Khulna Metropolitan BNP President Shafiqul Alam (MANA) gave a speech expressing solidarity. He said, it is the responsibility of the state to ensure the safety of journalists. The attackers should be quickly identified and punished.

Samakal staff reporter Hasan Himalaya moderated the rally. Journalists blocked the road in front of the press club till nine o’clock at night.
