Jagannath University administration initiates crackdown on unauthorized banners by banned student group

Posters linked to the banned organization Bangladesh Chhatra League appeared on the premises of Jagannath University on Friday morning, sparking security concerns on campus. The materials, which explicitly identified the Jagannath University branch of the group, were discovered affixed to the university’s second gate and the Shahid Sajid Building.
Footage circulating online appears to implicate university student leaders in the distribution of the posters. According to visual evidence, the operation was directed by organizational secretaries Ashik-e-Atahar Mesbah and Sajbul Islam, alongside joint general secretary Mehedi Hasan.
In response to the incident, university Proctor Professor Mohammad Nasir Uddin stated that an internal investigation is underway. He noted that while the campus remains accessible to students, officials are currently reviewing security footage to identify those responsible for the unauthorized activity. The proctor confirmed he is coordinating with campus security teams to determine how the individuals gained access and successfully placed the materials despite the group’s current legal status.
