In Narayanganj Sadar Upazila, Fatulla, a truck driver was beaten to death for stopping him from consuming drugs. In this incident, a person was arrested and handed over to the police by the local workers. The incident took place at Panchabati Paur Terminal area of ​​Fatulla around 10 am on Saturday.

The name of the deceased truck driver is Suman (28). He is a resident of Gokarna village in Brahmanbaria city. The detained Hatem (30) is a resident of Muslimnagar area of ​​Fatulla in Narayanganj. Both lived on rent in the same house in Bodbari area adjacent to Panchbati Municipal Terminal. Hatim worked as an assistant to another truck driver.

According to local residents and police sources, Hatem used to consume drugs regularly. Suman protested about the matter and told the owner of the house. A dispute arose between the two. When Suman reached the municipal terminal on Saturday morning on his way to work, Hatem hit him on the head and neck with a piece of wood from behind. Sumon was first taken to Victoria General Hospital in Narayanganj and later to Dhaka in a critical condition. He died on Saturday around 1 am while undergoing treatment.

Sukkur Mia, a worker at the terminal, said that Hatem was angry because he protested against drug consumption. In the morning he hit Suman on the head with wood.

Mahabub Alam, officer-in-charge of Fatulla Model Police Station, said that one suspect involved in the incident has been arrested and handed over to the police. A written complaint has not yet been filed by the family of the deceased.
