Insulting a female teacher by entering a college in Rajshahi, allegations against BNP leaders and activists

In Rajshahi’s Daukandi Government College, the principal and female teacher (exhibitor) were beaten up and the office vandalized. The attackers beat up the female demonstrator and dragged her out by her hair. The attackers violated section 144 and entered the college premises during the graduation (degree) examination of the college on Thursday.
It has been alleged that local BNP leaders and workers are involved in this attack. A video of college female presenter Alia Khatun (Hira) being beaten with sandals has gone viral on social media Facebook.
Principal Abdur Razzak, who was injured in the attack, was treated at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. And exhibitor Alia Khatun is undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
According to eyewitness sources, a local fishmonger Shahadat Ali, a BNP activist, beat the demonstrator Alia Khatun with a sandal. Shahadat Ali’s son Liton and employees attacked Mahbur College principal and instructor Alia Khatun. The attack was led by Jayanagar Union Ward No. 4 BNP President Ezdar, Jayanagar Union Farmers Dal President Zainal Abedin, businessman Afaz Uddin and others.
The college is located in Joynagar Union of Durgapur Upazila. The graduation exam was being held in that college yesterday on Thursday. There was an examination on Marketing and Islamic Studies from two o’clock.
Talking to the teachers of the college, it is known that some BNP leaders led by former policeman Abdus Samad came to the college on the occasion of Tafseer Mahfil in the area. Alia Khatun was doing a video while they were talking to the principal. Joynal Abedin, president of the Jayanagar Union Farmers’ Party, asked the demonstrator to take away the mobile phone of Alia Khatun. Afaz Uddin went to take away his mobile phone. Alia then slapped him. There is an argument about this. After taking away the mobile phone, Alia Khatun came down and pushed Afaz Uddin.
Meanwhile, at the same time Shahadat Ali, the lessee of the college’s pond, a fishmonger and a BNP activist, came to talk to the principal. There is an allegation against him for non-payment of college pond lease. Alia Khatun slapped Shahadat Ali during an argument with Shahadat Ali. Then Shahadat Ali removed the sandals from his feet and started beating Alia Khatun. Shahadat Ali’s son Liton and employee Mahabur went and attacked the principal and Alia on hearing this news.
College teachers called the National Emergency Service number 999 and the police arrived. The police cleared everyone out and calmed down the situation. Everyone left the college around half past one. The exam starts at 2 pm. After the examination, 40-50 BNP leaders and workers entered the college. They entered the college principal’s office and severely beat the principal Abdur Razzak and Alia Begum. vandalized the college office. They broke the crest and other gifts arranged in the principal’s room. Then the police came and brought the situation under control.
In this regard, Shahadat Ali said that during the period of Awami League, his money was paid. After the change of government on August 5, the money was not paid due to the chaos. He came to the college to calculate the money. Earlier, presenter Alia Khatun misbehaved with the people who went to write letters to Tafseer Mahfil and even slapped one of them. In this situation, he went to the principal’s office and said that there is no atmosphere to talk in this situation. I will come the next day.
Shahadat Ali said, the principal took the matter seriously but Alia said from the side, “You brought them along, what are you a BNP leader?”
Shahadat Ali claimed that after saying this, Alia slapped him on the cheek. Then he removed the sandal from his feet and killed him. Then came.
On the other hand, Alia’s claim is that the attackers were attacking the principal, and the principal cracked his head. In this situation, he was making a video. They would not allow the video, so they attacked him, beat him with sandals and took away his mobile phone and broke it. He is no longer receiving calls. And the principal’s mobile phone was broken and burnt by the attackers.
Repeated attempts were made to speak to the principal of the college, Abdur Razzak, but he could not be reached on the phone. Other teachers of the college also could not tell his home address.
Durgapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Panchananda Sarkar told Prothom Alo on Friday afternoon that he visited the scene. No party has complained so far.
