In Mymensingh, a schoolboy was beaten to death due to a quarrel at the Boishakhi fair

Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh due to a trivial incident at the Baisakhi fair with friends. A school student named Siam (15) was beaten to death. The incident took place in Padurbari field of the upazila after Thursday evening. The police have taken two people into custody for questioning in this incident.
The deceased is the son of Abdus Salam of Shibpur village of Siam upazila. He was a ninth grader at the local Mancon High School. Siam died on the way to Dhaka for advanced treatment from Mymensingh Medical College Hospital at around four o’clock in the morning today.
Talking to the police and local people, it is known that the Boishakhi fair was going on for two days in Padurbari High School grounds. Siam went to the fair with friends at around 7:30 pm yesterday. At one stage of the conversation, there was a fight between the two sides of the friends. Later they solved the matter there themselves. After some time Siam was found alone on one side of the fair and was severely beaten and injured. The local people rescued him and took him first to Muktagachha Upazila Health Complex and then to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. From there he died around four in the morning on the way to Dhaka for better treatment.
In this incident, the son of Mannan of Ramnath Bari village of the upazila. Police took Nazmul (35) and a 13-year-old boy into custody on Friday morning for questioning.
Kamrul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Muktagachha police station, said that the murder occurred due to a dispute between the youths of the two areas. The body of the deceased teenager has been sent to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Police is preparing a case in this incident. Two have been taken into custody for questioning. Police are conducting an operation to arrest the people involved in the murder.
