In Cox’s Bazar, a young man died after being stabbed in the stomach due to an argument

A young man died after being stabbed in Cox’s Bazar Sadar due to an argument. The incident took place in Tetaiya area of Ward No. 1 in Khurushkul Union of the upazila at around 12 noon on Wednesday.
The name of the deceased youth is Mohammad Jahangir Alam (33). He is the son of deceased Mohammad Kalu of that area. The name of the youth accused in this incident is Mohammad Arif. He is the son of Mohammad Hossain of the same area.
According to local residents, there was a family dispute between Jahangir Alam and Mohammad Arif over land. This morning Jahangir Alam’s brother Modi was working on the construction of a shop on that land. Arif talks with Jahangir Alam about this. At one point Arif stabbed Jahangir in the stomach with a sharp knife. After that local people rescued him in bloody condition and took him to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. There the doctor declared Jahangir Alam dead.
Officer-in-charge of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, Sheikh Mohammad Ali, said that the body of the deceased youth has been kept in the morgue of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Efforts are on to arrest the accused in this incident.
