I will call you Gupta thousands of times every day: Chhatra Dal General Secretary

Nashir Uddin, General Secretary of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, has commented that ‘secret politics’ will not be allowed to continue in educational institutions. He said, “If you attack Chittagong City College once because of calling the camp a secret, then for the next few years, we will call you Gupta thousands of times every day, on every wall, in every writing in all the educational institutions of Bangladesh.”
He said this in a rally at Chittagong city’s Newmarket intersection on Wednesday afternoon. This program was held in protest against the attack on the leaders and workers of Chittagong Government City College. Earlier they took out a protest march. The procession starts from the old railway station grounds of the city and goes around various roads and ends at the New Market junction. Later a short rally was held there.
Nashir Uddin said, ‘If there was a difference of opinion, you could have drawn a counter-graffiti. But instead of doing that, the terrorism you provoked by writing a graffiti, the way you attacked numerous leaders and workers of the Bangladesh Nationalist Student Party, shows that you are not ready to allow normal activities to be carried out in educational institutions.
Nashir Uddin said in the rally that they want to attack Chhatra Dal by themselves. It’s simply common people—being aggressors still want to play the victim card. It is a camp character. Now it has become a nightmare.
Demanding an end to ‘secret’ politics, Nashir Uddin said, ‘There can be no secret politics in any campus in Bangladesh in the future. If you want to do politics, you must openly do party politics. On every campus we have been victims of oppression in the past. For that we do not believe in any revenge. But if any Chhatra Dal leaders and activists are attacked like Chittagong City College, then Chhatra Dal will not sit quietly in any campus of Bangladesh.
Under the chairmanship of Chittagong Metropolitan Chhatra Dal convener Saiful Alam and moderated by member secretary Shariful Islam, Chittagong University Chhatra Dal President Alauddin Mohsin, General Secretary Abdullah Noman, Chittagong South District Chhatra Dal Convener Rabiul Alam, Chittagong North District Chhatra Dal President Takibul Hasan Chowdhury, General Secretary Sarwar Hossain and others were present in the rally.
Earlier on Tuesday, there was a clash between Chhatra Dal and Islami Chhatra Shibir leaders over writing ‘secret’ on the wall of Chittagong Government City College. Clashes took place in two phases from 10 am to 4 pm yesterday. At this time, workers from both sides were seen with sharp weapons and batons. Both sides claimed that at least 20 people were injured in the clash.
According to the college sources, a graffiti on the college wall was written – ‘Student politics and Chhatra League free campus’. Last Monday, some leaders and activists led by the joint convenor of the college branch Chhatra Dal, Abdullah Al Mamun, went and deleted the word ‘student’. Later the word ‘Gupta’ was written there.
When a video of the incident spread on social media, tension spread between the leaders and activists of the two organizations. Arguments started between the two parties since yesterday morning. Around 12 noon, the two sides faced each other and shouted slogans. At one point, the two sides clashed. Both sides are blaming each other for the attack.
