Health Minister orders removal of Chandpur Civil Surgeon following surprise hospital inspection

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain ordered the immediate withdrawal of the Chandpur Civil Surgeon on Sunday following an unannounced inspection of the Haimchar Upazila Health Complex, where he discovered significant administrative mismanagement.
The Minister arrived at the Haimchar facility at approximately 10:30 a.m. Upon touring the premises, he observed widespread irregularities and operational failures. Acting immediately, he instructed the Ministry to issue a stand-release order for Civil Surgeon Mohammad Nur Alam Din.
The Minister was accompanied during the inspection by Chandpur-3 Member of Parliament Sheikh Farid Ahmed, alongside various local political and administrative officials. Following his visit to the Upazila Health Complex, the Minister proceeded to inspect the 250-bed Chandpur General Hospital.
Attempts to reach Civil Surgeon Mohammad Nur Alam Din for comment were unsuccessful, as his mobile phone remained powered off throughout the day.
