Viral food vendor Mizanur Rahman arrested in Dhaka for obstructing government officials

Mizanur Rahman, a social media personality widely known as “Viral Mizan” for selling beef and rice at the low price of 100 taka, was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in the capital on Sunday.
Officers from the Kafrul Police Station took Rahman into custody in the Agargaon area during the afternoon. He has since been forwarded to court following the filing of a criminal case, which includes charges of obstructing government officials in the performance of their duties.
The arrest followed an operation by the Power Division to disconnect illegal electricity connections from street-side stalls and other unauthorized structures. According to Mohammad Saiful Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Kafrul Police Station, a team led by an executive magistrate arrived at Rahman’s stall in Agargaon to sever an illegal power line when the suspect allegedly became aggressive toward the officials.
Authorities reported that during the confrontation, Rahman physically assaulted municipal workers and police officers present at the scene. He was subsequently detained by the executive magistrate and handed over to the police for formal legal proceedings.
