Fuel App has been launched in Rajshahi, the facility remains

To prevent customer harassment and illegal stockpiling of fuel oil, oil supply program has started in Rajshahi through ‘Fuel Management’ mobile app.

Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam officially inaugurated the program at Gulagpur filling station located in Kumarpara of the metropolis on Sunday (April 12) at 9 am.

According to administration sources, fuel oil will be sold on a rationing basis through this new app. Under this, a motorcyclist can buy a maximum of Tk 500 once in 5 days and a microbus or private car driver can buy petrol or diesel Tk 2,000. Pointmen in charge of filling stations will dispense fuel directly by scanning the vehicle’s registration number through the app. Customers will not need any separate registration to avail this service. Apart from this, diesel used in agriculture is being supplied to the farmers through prescribed cards. Common customers have applauded such a timely initiative of the administration.

In the opening ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam said that this app has been launched so that customers who come to buy fuel at petrol pumps can easily buy fuel by avoiding long queues and that no one can stockpile oil illegally.

He said that after taking oil from any petrol pump once, no customer can take oil again before the next five days. If you come to collect oil before the scheduled period, it can be easily identified through the app. He urged the present customers to follow this rule.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sabur Ali, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Borhan Uddin Antar and journalists from print and electronic media were present on the occasion.
