Deputy Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad and Member of Parliament for Netrokona-1 (Kalmakanda-Durgapur) constituency Kaiser Kamal said, “The selection process of family card beneficiaries in my constituency has not been done properly. Many inconsistencies were noticed in the preparation of the list. Many well-to-do families also got family cards. In fact, many of those who are deserving have been deprived.

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the discussion meeting organized on the occasion of the family card distribution ceremony at Kalmakanda Zilla Parishad auditorium cum multipurpose hall in Netrakona on Saturday around 4 pm.

Expressing anger, Kaiser Kamal said, ‘I have been staying in the area for several days. I have come to know about this inconsistency by inquiring into many destitute people. I understand the pain of these deprived people who do not get cards. Before the elections, I used to carry two cards in my pocket – one family card, the other health card, saying that no one can do corruption in these works; But I have noticed that many of those who need more may not have got this card. For that I express my sorrow to them with folded hands. I will look into this very seriously.

Qaiser Kamal also said, ‘I am speaking to those who do the work of making the list or for the purpose of the administration and since this is the first time, I request that this should not happen again. I haven’t received any complaints about money transactions on this card though; But I also found some inconsistencies in beneficiary selection. Therefore, if there is any corruption, I will apply the law appropriately. I am making it clear—because, as I say again and again, I will never commit corruption myself, nor will I allow others to do so. Negligence is also a form of corruption. So everyone remember this. In this parliamentary seat of mine, there are people of various communities including Hindus, Muslims, Christians. So those who are really eligible to get family card should get it irrespective of party- creed- creed- caste.
