On the first day of the SSC examination in Comilla’s Homna Upazila, local parliament member Principal Salim Bhuiyan visited the center ignoring the instructions of the Education Minister. Not only that, the entire incident of examination center and hall inspection was also live (broadcasted) on social media Facebook.
The incident took place at Homna Government High School Center at 10:15 am on Tuesday. Parents have criticized the MP’s Facebook live in a sensitive place like an examination center.

Later, standing in front of a room in the exam hall, the teacher and the examinees were instructed by gestures. Going out of there towards the front room. On April 12, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon announced in an exchange meeting with the central secretaries at Azimpur Girls School and College in the capital that no public representative will be allowed to enter the examination center.
Parents are criticizing the Facebook Live of Salim Bhuiyan’s center visit. On the condition of anonymity, a parent of an examinee said, “There has been a major disturbance in the attention of the students due to live use of mobile phones in the examination hall. The MP was accompanied by a few other persons, who were assisting him in making the video. Such irresponsible actions cannot be accepted in any way.
Tajul Islam, secretary and head teacher of Homna Government High School, said that he went to meet the MP after hearing the news. However, he did not notice the fact of live on Facebook. He does not know who did it live.
If asked, Homna Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Shahidul Islam told Prothom Alo that entering the center with a mobile phone is completely prohibited. He has already informed the matter to all concerned.
Comilla Education Board Chairman Prof. Shamchul Alam told Prothom Alo that according to the instructions of the Education Minister, no public representative can go to the center, let alone live there.
Parliamentarian Salim Bhuiyan called on the phone several times to talk about this, but he did not pick up. However, a person close to the member of Parliament told Prothom Alo on condition of anonymity, “He does not manage the Facebook page in the name of the MP. People with him were live at that time. Being live on Facebook – even the MP himself did not understand the matter.
