Dhaka to Host Third Annual Turag Active 25K Featuring Runners From 17 Nations

The third edition of the “Turag Active Dhaka 25K,” one of Bangladesh’s premier sports events, is set to take place this Friday at 4:00 a.m. in the capital’s Hatirjheel. Organized by sports management firm Run Bangladesh, the international event centers on the theme “Road to Glory,” aiming to promote sports tourism and advocate for a healthy lifestyle.

The competition has attracted approximately 3,000 runners representing 17 countries. The event has achieved significant global recognition, earning certification from both the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and World Athletics. This milestone marks a major step forward in positioning the Bangladeshi running community on the international stage.

Organizers have structured the event to be inclusive of all ages and physical abilities. Beyond the core 25-kilometer race, the competition features a 10-kilometer run, a 3-kilometer category for children, and a 3-kilometer wheelchair race for individuals with disabilities. To ensure safety and performance, experienced pacers will be positioned along the track, while Run Bangladesh brand ambassador Rakibul Islam will be present to boost participant morale.

Sajnan Mohammad, the Race Director and CEO of Run Bangladesh, stated that the organization has spent the past decade striving to elevate endurance sports in the country to an international standard. He emphasized that the event is intended to go beyond athletics, serving as a platform to improve Bangladesh’s global image through sports tourism. The “Road to Glory” theme, he noted, reflects the indomitable spirit of the runners and their collective pursuit of excellence.

The event is supported by title sponsor Turag Active, alongside a wide network of partners spanning media, nutrition, healthcare, and hospitality sectors.
