The deputy director of the National Cancer Research Institute and Hospital was injured in a stabbing incident in the capital’s Mohakhali. His name is Ahmed Hossain (50). The incident took place in the BRAC University-adjacent area of ​​Mohakhali on Monday afternoon.

Ahmed Hossain was first given first aid at the cancer research institute and hospital. He is currently under treatment at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. Mostak Ahamed, resident doctor of the emergency department of DMK Hospital, said that Ahmed Hossain has stab wounds on his hand, left arm and back.

A person who came to DM with Ahmad Hossain on the condition of not revealing his identity said that Ahmad Hossain joined Cancer Research Institute and Hospital two months ago. Prior to this he was the Director of the Disciplinary Committee of the Department of Health. Two weeks ago someone threatened him to get the tender through EGP.

Injured deputy director Ahmad Hossain said that in the afternoon he was going home from the cancer research institute and hospital behind the health department. At this time, two young men stabbed him and ran away after blocking his way. When asked about the threat, he told Prothom Alo that many people called him to get the tender.
