Child’s body in warehouse after rape in Chittagong, main accused arrested from Narsingdi

An 11-year-old child was killed after being raped in Hathazari, Chittagong last March. The killer left his body in a warehouse. About three months after this incident, the main accused and accused in the murder case. Faisal (19) has been arrested by the police. He was arrested from Tongkpara area of Nilkshi Union of Raipura police station of Narsingdi district last Wednesday night.
Additional Chittagong District Superintendent of Police (Hathazari Region) Kazi Md. Tarek Aziz told Prothom Alo that the accused was arrested from Narsingdi on the basis of secret information. Later, when the accused Faisal was produced in the court, he gave a confessional statement.

According to the police, the 11-year-old girl went missing on March 24. Two days later, on March 26, local residents found the body while searching for the source of the smell when a cotton warehouse near the child’s house smelled. The police confirmed that the child was killed after being raped and the body left inside the warehouse. The CCTV camera near the building showed that accused Faisal entered the warehouse with the child. Later he went out alone. In this incident, the child’s mother filed a case against Faisal in the Hathazari police station on March 26.
It was found that the child’s father is disabled. Mother is a local factory worker. Accused Faisal lived in the same colony with the child. Faisal’s house is in Barisal. He is a day laborer by profession.
