Chhatra Dal’s movement is relaxed, the lock of the vice chancellor’s office has been opened

The student wing of Rangamati University of Science and Technology suspended the movement demanding the resignation of the vice-chancellor. After two days, the leaders and activists of the branch students opened the lock of the vice-chancellor’s office at around 10 am on Thursday. However, if the demand is not met, the leaders and activists said that the lock will be opened again from six o’clock this evening.

Earlier yesterday at three o’clock in the afternoon, the student body had a meeting with the university administration. The meeting was held in academic building number 1 of the university. Acting Registrar of the University Mohammad Junaid Kabir, Dean of Business Administration Faculty Mohammad Rahim Uddin, Student Counselor Saddam Hossain, District Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Jasim Uddin, Rangamati District BNP General Secretary Mamunur Rashid and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists were present. At the end of the meeting at six in the evening, it was decided to relax the movement.

This information was also informed in a press release given by the branch student body. This notification was given around 10 am today. In the notification, the Chhatra Dal said that they have relaxed this program to speed up the administrative activities of the university. This decision has been taken in the larger interest of the university.

When asked, Nasir Uddin, convenor of the university branch student union, said, “The vice-chancellor’s office will be locked again after six o’clock in the evening.” They will continue the program until their demands are met.

Prior to this last Tuesday, the vice chancellor said. Branch Chhatra Dal leaders and activists locked the office of Atiyar Rahman demanding his resignation. They accused the vice chancellor of the university of irregularities in the appointment, insulting the local culture. However, the Vice-Chancellor was not in the campus at the time of the lockdown. The vice-chancellor’s office was also locked on Wednesday.
