Chhatra Dal demands that Nasiruddin be brought under the law for creating a mob with weapons

Jhenaidah District Chhatra Dal has demanded immediate police custody of Jatiya Nagrik Party (NCP) chief organizer Naseeruddin Patwari on charges of creating a mob with weapons. The leaders of the organization made a protest march in Jhenaidah city this Friday afternoon.
Naseeruddin Patwari was attacked and egg thrown at the city’s old Collectorate Jame Masjid today afternoon when he was leaving after Friday prayers. It is said that at least five members of anti-discrimination student movement and Chhatra Dal, including Nasiruddin, were injured. There is tension in the city in this incident.
Some eyewitnesses said that when he was talking to Islami University Students’ Party convener Saheed Ahmed while coming out after Friday prayers, suddenly eggs were thrown at Naseeruddin Patwari. Later excitement spread around him. At that time, the leaders and activists of NCP and anti-discrimination student movement surrounded him and tried to take him away safely. Later, incidents of brick pelting, baton thrashing and sloganeering took place between the two sides.
Jhenaidah District NCP Joint Coordinator Hamid Parvez said Nasiruddin Patwari came to Jhenaidah to participate in the scheduled program. While leaving the mosque, Chhatra Dal leaders and activists attacked in a planned manner. Nasiruddin Patwari, central joint member secretary Tarek Reza, district anti-discrimination student movement president Saidur Rahman and others were injured. He said that preparations are underway to file a complaint with the police station.
On the other hand, after the protest march in the afternoon, Imran Hossain, President of the District Chhatra Dal, said, “Nasiruddin Patwari wants to create chaos by creating a mob.” Even today, after prayers, he takes action with people to create mobs. At that time, when the conflict started, they took out their weapons and practiced. Chhatra Dal president said, “We have to find out where these weapons came from.” I demand to bring him under the law.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station. Asauzaman said that additional police were deployed after learning about the incident. Currently the situation is under control. He said that action will be taken according to law if a complaint is made by NCP. Apart from this, the complaint made by Chhatra Dal on display of weapons is also being investigated.
Meanwhile, it is reported that due to the situation, the scheduled meeting of NCP in the district town has been postponed.
