At the same time, the Jahangirnagar University administration has formed a three-member investigation committee against a student named Nazmul Hasan for studying in Jahangirnagar University and Dhaka University. The acting registrar of the university ABM Azizur Rahman confirmed the matter of the investigation committee on Saturday afternoon.

Azizur Rahman told Prothom Alo that a student of the 2022-23 academic year (Batch 52) of the Journalism and Media Studies Department has been admitted to JAB and DU at the same time. The committee has been asked to submit its inquiry report with recommendations within seven working days.

According to university sources, the accused Nazmul Hasan passed higher secondary from Notre Dame College under Dhaka Education Board in 2022 and took part in the university admission test. He got an opportunity in Jahangirnagar University’s Department of Journalism and Media Studies that year and was admitted in the 2022-2023 academic year as a Bachelor (Honours). His class roll is 1180 and currently studying in third year.

In 2022, using the same certificate, Nazmul Hasan took the admission test in Dhaka University in the academic year 2022-23. However, he did not get admission in Dhaka University that year. According to the rules of the last few years, a student can take part in the admission test only once for graduation (honours) of Dhaka University. But Nazmul Hasan took the Alim exam from Narayanganj Bandar Islamia Fazil Madrasa under Madrasa Board the next year. After that, he took the admission test at Dhaka University for the second time with Alim’s certificate and was admitted in the 2023-2024 academic year of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of DU as 436th in the merit list. In Jahangirnagar University his name is Nazmul Hasan (SIAM) but in Dhaka University his name is Nazmul Hasan. His class roll in DU is 31 and he is a resident student of Kavi Jasim Uddin Hall.

After that, Jahangirnagar University administration made a three-member investigation committee to verify the truth of the matter. Professor Md. When asked if a student studying in two universities at the same time violates the law or not, Syed Muhammad Ali Reza, deputy registrar of the education branch of Jahangirnagar University and member secretary of the investigation committee, told Prothom Alo that it is a state crime and against morality to be enrolled in the same degree in two universities at the same time. There has been an inquiry committee about him. The first meeting of the committee will be held tomorrow on Sunday. There the issues will be discussed. Although the student has already called them and told them that he has canceled the admission in Dhaka University.
