Benapole land port employees strike for two hours, demand higher allowances

Employees of Jessore’s Benapole land port went on strike for two hours demanding resumption of higher allowances. This program was held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday. At this time, the rally was held in front of the passenger terminal of the land port.

Convenor of Bangladesh Land Port Authority Claims Council Traffic Inspector Hafizur Rahman Miah, Traffic Inspector KM Nahiduzzaman, Warehouse Superintendent Shahadat Hossain etc. addressed the gathering.

Speakers said that land port employees work day and night. Earlier, employees were paid higher allowances for overtime work beyond the government-notified working hours. But from November 2025, land port authorities have stopped overtime allowance. Employees are being deprived of it.
