Bangladesh Home Ministry Reshuffles 14 Senior Police Officials Including Two DIGs

The Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred 14 senior police officers, including two Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs), in a major administrative reshuffle. The move, aimed at organizational restructuring, also includes two Additional DIGs and 11 officers holding the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP). Additionally, one Superintendent of Police and two Additional Superintendents of Police have been attached to new offices.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued three separate notifications on Tuesday to formalize the transfers. Deputy Secretary Tawsif Ahmed signed the official orders on behalf of the ministry.
Under the new directives, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) DIG Md. Humayun Kabir has been appointed as the Additional Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). Special Branch (SB) DIG Mu. Mahabubur Rashid has been named Commissioner of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RMP), while Railway Police Additional DIG Tofael Ahmed Mia has been transferred to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) as Joint Commissioner. Additionally, Police Staff College Additional DIG (Supernumerary DIG) Md. Humayun Kabir has been moved to Police Headquarters.
Several officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police were also reassigned. Shahadat Hossain of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) has been moved to the PBI, and Mohammad Nazmul Alam has been assigned to the DMP. Special Branch SP M.K.H. Jahangir Hossain and RMP Deputy Commissioner Abdur Rahman have both been transferred to the PBI.
Furthermore, PBI SP Jafar Hossain and PBI SP Muhammad Khaled Uz Zaman have been moved to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). PBI SP Abul Kalam Azad has been transferred to the Gazipur In-Service Training Center, while Gazipur In-Service Training Center Commandant S.M. Sirajul Huda has been reassigned to the Jhenaidah In-Service Training Center. PBI SP S.M. Rafiqul Islam has been moved to the APBN, and DMP Deputy Commissioner Aslam Uddin has been posted to Police Headquarters.
In separate administrative orders, Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Nurul Amin of the Noakhali Police Training Center and Additional Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim of the Special Branch have been attached to the Khagrachari APBN and Specialized Training Center. Meanwhile, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Riazul Kabir has been attached to the office of the Rangpur Range DIG.
