Bangladesh Government grants state minister status to Invest Bangladesh Authority Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun

The Bangladesh government has granted the rank and status of a Minister of State to Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, the Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority. The decision, which took effect immediately, was formalized through a notification issued by the Cabinet Division.
Under the terms of the appointment, Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun will be entitled to the salary, allowances, and other official privileges equivalent to those of a Minister of State while serving in his current capacity.
The Cabinet Division stated that the elevation in status is intended to bolster the authority’s role in promoting investment and streamlining administrative processes. The government aims to enhance the chairman’s capacity to oversee investment facilitation and ensure the effective execution of his mandates.
Operating under the Prime Minister’s Office, the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority serves as the primary agency for attracting both domestic and foreign investment. It is tasked with coordinating investment-related services and streamlining the regulatory environment to foster a more business-friendly climate in the country.
