Alleged rape of child for giving mangoes

In Shahjadpur of Sirajganj, a young man (25) has been accused of raping a 9-year-old child by tying his hands and feet. In this incident, the child’s mother filed a case at the police station as the plaintiff, making the young man the only accused.

According to the complaint raised in the case, last Tuesday afternoon, the young man called three female students of the fourth grade of the local primary school to his home after giving them mangoes. There was no one else at home at that time. In this situation, the young man took the three children to his house, closed the door, tied their hands and feet and sexually assaulted all three of them. At one stage he raped a student by keeping both of them standing facing each other by the side of the bed. After this incident, the young man handed over 300 rupees to the three children and asked them not to tell anyone about the matter and showed fear.

But the children ran quickly out of the house without taking the money and informed their relatives. After that, when their parents informed the local teachers about the matter, arbitration was organized on Sunday afternoon. However, the accused youth and his father did not appear in the arbitration.

After learning about the matter, a team of Shahjadpur police station reached the spot on Sunday afternoon and arbitrated. The victim’s mother filed a complaint at the police station that night.

However, denying the allegations, the father of the accused youth claimed that the chiefs of the area have demanded money by making baseless allegations against his son. His son is being conspiratorially framed for defamation due to non-payment of that money. His son studies in Dhaka and lives there.

In this regard, Saiful Islam, officer in charge of Shahjadpur police station, told Prothom Alo on Monday afternoon that a case has been filed in the case of child rape and sexual abuse. The abused child has been sent to Sirajganj 250-bed General Hospital for medical examination. Statements of two other children have been taken. Police operations are continuing to quickly arrest the accused.
