Accused arrested in case of pregnancy of 11-year-old child
A madrasa teacher has been arrested in connection with the case of an 11-year-old madrasa girl getting pregnant in Madan upazila of Netrakona. A team of RAB-14 arrested him from Gauripur Upazila of Mymensingh at around three o’clock in the morning yesterday.
Company commander in charge of RAB-14 media, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Samsuzzaman. He said that a pre-briefing will be held at RAB’s battalion headquarters in Mymensingh Aqua Bypass area today at 12 noon on Wednesday.
According to local residents, Azahar and police sources, the teacher established a women’s Qaumi madrasa four years ago. The child used to study there from his maternal grandfather’s house. As the child’s father left his mother and went elsewhere, the mother worked as a housekeeper in a house in Sylhet to earn a living.
Recently the child was feeling sick and showed physical changes in him. Later her mother came from Sylhet and came to know about the matter after questioning her daughter. Later on April 18, the child was taken to a clinic in Madan upazila. After the necessary tests, the doctor said that the child is pregnant. Later, the girl’s mother filed a complaint at the police station on Thursday. Since the case was filed, the law and order forces had been conducting operations to arrest the accused madrasa teacher.
Among them, a video of the teacher from an unknown place has spread on social media. In the video, he claims to be innocent.
