Meeting of the US Ambassador with the Minister of Road Transport

In the meeting held at the Minister’s office in the Secretariat on Sunday (April 12), fruitful discussions were held on various issues of mutual interest, especially the ongoing development activities of Bangladesh’s road, rail and maritime communication sectors and the possibility of future cooperation.
During the meeting, Roads Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam said that under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Tariq Rahman, the government is working tirelessly to make the country’s communication system modern, safe and sustainable. He expressed optimism about possible US investment and technical assistance in this sector.
US Ambassador Brent T. Christensen welcomed the current government and said that the cooperation of the United States will continue in the development of road safety, modern transportation system and sustainable infrastructure.
He expressed his conviction to further advance Bangladesh’s communication sector through strengthening mutual cooperation, increasing investment and sharing technical know-how.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Road Transport and Highways Department. Mohammad Ziaul Haque was present.
