After seeing him in the TSC area on Tuesday evening, the leaders of NCP’s affiliated organization Jatiya Chhatra Shakti arrested him.
This student’s name is M. Shakib. He is a student of Philosophy Department of Dhaka University Vijay Ekatar Hall 2021-22 session. It is initially known that there are two cases against him in connection with the attack on the protestors during the July movement.
On July 15, 2024, Shakib was temporarily expelled from the university for participating in the attack on the students of Dhaka University.

If not, we will take the next decision.
Ashfaq Farhan Himel, joint general secretary of Dhaka University of Jatiya Chhatra Shakti, who was present at the scene, told Prothom Alo, “While in TSC today, we noticed a boy who was one of the attackers on July 15 and he posted many violent posts till August 3 and kept everyone under threat and his Facebook activity is also very despicable.”
Ashfaq also said, ‘We asked why you came here, you are an outcast. She said, I am here for my admission process. We checked his (Shaqib’s) Facebook ad with his phone and found that violent posts on his Facebook were active and we saw this as a threat that he might have some bad intentions. So we called the proctorial team and came to Shahbagh police station in their car and handed him over to the police on duty at Shahbagh police station.
When asked about this, Proctor of Dhaka University Professor Saifuddin Ahmed told Prothom Alo that he (Sakib) is a student of our university. Shahbag police station has two cases against anti-discrimination activists. He has been given to the police in view of these cases.
