A woman was beaten up in Shivalay, the body was found hanging from the house the next day

A woman (25) was publicly beaten up at the village arbitrator meeting on Friday evening at Shivalay in Manikganj. His hanging body was recovered from the woman’s house the next evening. A case has been filed at the police station in this incident on Sunday afternoon. Police arrested three people in the afternoon.

The arrested persons are Abdul Aziz Khan, Naeem Hossain (21) and Shukkur Ali (45). Manikganj court inspector Abul Khair Mia confirmed that they were sent to jail through the court on Sunday afternoon.

According to the statement of the case, the victim’s family and local sources said that the woman worked in a local factory. An arbitration meeting was held at the woman’s father’s house last Friday evening, alleging that she had developed a love relationship with a local youth. Aziz Khan, Naeem Hossain, Shukkur Ali, Liton Hossain, Chunnu Mia, Nannu Mia, Azam Hossain, Salim Hossain and several village leaders were there. In the arbitration, the woman and the youth were found guilty by the Matbars. Then the two were publicly beaten. The youth was ordered to leave the village.

The next day on Saturday afternoon, on the way home from work, the young men of the area taunted the woman. After that, the family members recovered his hanging body around seven in the evening. Police recovered the body around 10 pm after receiving the information. Later, the body was sent to Manikganj Medical College morgue for post-mortem.

In this incident, the woman’s father filed a case at Shivaloy Police Station on the charge of incitement to suicide, citing the names of 11 people and five-six others who have not been identified.

The woman’s mother said, “My daughter was beaten up in front of everyone in the name of arbitration.” Unable to bear the humiliation, my daughter committed suicide. I want a fair trial.

Shivaloy police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Suman Chakraborty is the investigating officer of the case. He said that three accused in the case have been arrested. Efforts are on to arrest the other accused.
