A pickup collided with another pickup on the expressway, killing the driver and assistant

The driver and assistant were killed when a pickup was hit by another pickup on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway at Bhanga in Faridpur. The accident took place on the Dhaka-bound lane on the Bhangar Atadi bridge of the expressway at around 4:20 am on Monday morning. The identity of the deceased driver and assistant is not known.
According to Bhanga Highway police sources, a pickup was parked on the left side of the Dhaka-bound lane and the wheel was being changed. At this time, a speeding pickup from behind hit the standing pickup. The driver and assistant of the moving pickup were killed on the spot. After getting information about the accident, Bhanga Highway Police reached the spot around 5 am and started the rescue operation.
Bhanga Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) confirmed the fact of the incident. Helal Uddin said, the body was recovered and kept in Banga Upazila Health Complex. The two pickups involved in the accident were recovered and brought to Banga Highway police station. Attempts are being made to identify the deceased driver and assistant.
Incidentally, at 4:15 am last Saturday, a rear wheel of a cargo truck burst on the Bhangamukhi lane in Bamankanda area of Gharua Union of Bhanga Upazila on the same expressway. Later, the driver of the truck and his assistant father and son were killed when an unknown vehicle hit them from behind while changing the wheel.
