A couple riding a motorcycle was killed in a collision with a bus in Khulna’s Daulatpur. The accident took place in the relegate area of ​​Daulatpur on Tuesday night.

The two deceased are Tanveer Hasan Sheikh (31) and his wife Lamia Begum (28) of Vadgati area of ​​Batiaghata upazila.

According to police and local sources, a Royal Paribahan bus left for Dhaka last night from Fultala. When the bus reached the relegate area around 8 pm, it collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Tanveer and his wife who were on the motorcycle were seriously injured. The local people rescued them and took them to Khulna Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared both dead.

The driver left the bus and fled immediately after the accident. The police later visited the spot and initiated the process of taking legal action.

Daulatpur police station officer-in-charge Shafiqul Islam said that the bus was impounded immediately after the accident. The driver fled. Efforts are on to identify him and operations are on to arrest him. Legal action is under process in this incident.
