18 sailors including Bangladeshis rescued from Arabian sea

Pakistan Navy has successfully rescued 18 sailors, including Bangladeshis, from a distressed commercial ship in an operation in the North Arabian Sea. The rescue operation began on Friday (April 10) when the vessel MV Gold Autumn sent an emergency signal while it was about 200 nautical miles from the Pakistani coast. 

Although the authorities did not say exactly what caused the ship to be in distress, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency activated its rescue coordination center and took swift action as soon as the signal was received.

Pakistan Navy ship PNS Hunain patrolling the area took part in the rescue operation. In addition to conducting searches, the Navy’s special teams provide first aid to injured sailors, put out fires on the ship, and troubleshoot the ship’s technical faults. 

Apart from Bangladeshis, among the rescued sailors are citizens of China, Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam. They have now been taken to Karachi for better treatment and will return to their respective countries from there.
