Superstar Jeet Fuels BJP Speculation in West Bengal

Tollywood superstar Jeet has ignited fresh speculation regarding his political future, marking a notable shift from his long-standing detachment from the political arena. His recent attendance at a high-profile event in Kolkata, coupled with earlier public statements, has observers connecting the dots about his potential entry into public service.
On Friday, May 8, the popular actor was observed entering Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground with VIP security. He was present at a significant ceremony where prominent political figures, including Subhendu Adhikari, were in attendance. This appearance quickly fueled discussions across media and social circles.
The actor’s presence at the event followed a series of actions that first hinted at his evolving political leanings. Earlier, after casting his vote in the assembly elections, Jeet had cryptically told journalists, “See what happens on the 4th…” referring to the election results day.
True to that sentiment, on May 4, the day election results were declared, Jeet was reportedly the first personality from the Bengali film industry to congratulate the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) via social media. He followed this on Tuesday, May 5, with a Facebook post celebrating the “saffron camp’s victory” in West Bengal.
In his post, Jeet wrote, “This is a historic moment for Bengal. Congratulations on this victory. I hope this change will open new paths for the state’s development and progress.” These public affirmations of support come despite his consistent efforts throughout his career to maintain distance from political stages, party promotions, and public gatherings, preferring to focus on his professional work and personal life.
While his recent actions have prompted widespread efforts to interpret his next move, the Tollywood superstar has yet to make any direct comment regarding joining a political party or contesting elections himself.
