International Cardiology Conference in Dhaka Focuses on Advancing Interventional Treatment Standards

A high-level scientific conference on interventional cardiology was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dhaka on Friday, aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and enhancing patient care standards in Bangladesh.
The daylong event, organized by Bengal Interventional Therapeutics (BIT), ran from 8:00 a.m. to 6:40 p.m. and was conducted entirely through a paperless digital format. BIT serves as a collaborative platform dedicated to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine.
The conference brought together leading cardiologists from Bangladesh alongside prominent experts from Japan, India, Nepal, and the United Kingdom. Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding emergency interventional cardiology, primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and emerging trends in the field.
A core focus of the proceedings was the application of advanced techniques for treating complex heart conditions. Organizers emphasized that the adoption of these sophisticated methodologies is essential for enabling cardiologists to make more accurate and timely clinical decisions.
Professor Afzalur Rahman, the program director and a renowned cardiologist and researcher in Bangladesh, stated that the academic gathering provides local specialists with a vital opportunity to master new interventional techniques and enhance patient outcomes. He added that the direct interaction with international experts from the UK and across Asia will facilitate the sharing of global best practices, further bolstering domestic research efforts and improving the standard of cardiac care available to patients in Bangladesh.
