Actor and lawmaker Rudranil Ghosh has weighed in on the sudden resignation of actress Koel Mallick from the Rajya Sabha, suggesting the move may have stemmed from a fundamental disconnect between political expectations and reality. During the same event, Ghosh shifted his focus to his film, “Abar Hawa Bodol,” noting that the project had faced significant distribution hurdles that delayed its release beyond the original December 2025 target. He took a veiled jab at his former detractors, suggesting that those responsible for hindering the film have since faded into obscurity and remain uncertain of their own standing.

Ghosh also addressed the broader political climate, offering a wry observation on Trinamool leader Kunal Ghosh, whom he labeled a “constant source of surprise.” Additionally, he commented on the state’s recent trend of political protests involving the throwing of eggs. Criticizing the practice as a wasteful misuse of resources, the lawmaker insisted that eggs should be reserved for consumption rather than used as tools for political demonstration.
