Barcelona sent away in the semi-finals by Atletico Madrid

Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid beat Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League in a match full of drama and excitement. Barca won the second leg 2-1 at the Metropolitano Stadium, but Atletico had the last laugh with a 3-2 lead over the two legs.

For the first time since 2017, the Madrid club returned to the last four of the fight for Europe’s best.

Barca, who trailed 2-0 in the first leg, squeezed Atletico early today. In just 4 minutes of the match, the young Turkish Lamin Yamal scored to give Barca the lead. In the 31st minute of the match, Ademola Lukman took advantage of Barca’s defensive mistake. His goal put Atletico ahead on aggregate again.
