IPU Secretary General Anda Filip Departs Dhaka Following Official Visit

Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Secretary General Anda Philip departed Dhaka on Wednesday, concluding an official visit to Bangladesh.
Officials from the Parliament Secretariat, led by an additional secretary, saw Philip off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Philip arrived in Dhaka on August 30. During the visit, the IPU official held high-level meetings with Prime Minister Tareq Rahman, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, and Leader of the Opposition Shafiqur Rahman.
In addition to these engagements, Philip held discussions with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid, as well as several female lawmakers and parliamentarians who have reportedly faced political persecution.
As part of the official itinerary, Philip toured the National Parliament House and visited the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum.
