Viral Video Emerges of Bride Abducted in Kishoreganj Following Wedding Procession Attack

A video of a newlywed bride has circulated on social media following her alleged abduction in Hossainpur, Kishoreganj, after her wedding ceremony. While the footage emerged late Monday, the time, location, and circumstances surrounding its recording remain unverified.

In the video, the bride is seen sitting in a room flanked by several women, while the individual accused of the abduction is visible standing near the doorway. Addressing her situation in the footage, the woman states that regardless of whether she arrived at the location by force or of her own volition, she is there now. She further remarks that returning home would not restore her or her parents’ honor, concluding that she intends to remain where she is.

Adding to the controversy, the accused individual posted a message on his Facebook profile shortly after the incident stating that he had nothing left to ask for in life. Despite the circulation of the bride’s video, her current whereabouts and whether she spoke under duress remain unclear. Attempts to reach the accused for comment were unsuccessful as his mobile phone remained powered off.

Hossainpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Muhammad Rashedul Islam stated that while the groom’s side has submitted a formal complaint, the bride’s family has yet to take similar action. Authorities are monitoring the situation following the release of the bride’s video statement and confirmed that legal action will be initiated pending a formal case and subsequent investigation.
