Chandpur headmaster dies on the day of his scheduled retirement farewell

Tapan Kumar Saha, the headmaster of Radhasar Government Primary School in Hajiganj, Chandpur, died on Monday morning, hours before he was scheduled to attend his retirement farewell ceremony. He was 59.
Saha passed away at his residence in Chandpur town following a sudden cardiac arrest. His death came as a profound shock to his colleagues and students, who had organized a formal reception and commemorative event to mark the final day of his career.
Instead of the planned celebration, the school campus became a site of mourning as his body was brought to the premises. His colleague, Lima Akter, stated that the faculty and students had completed all preparations to honor him with a reception and mementoes during the afternoon. Upon hearing the news of his death, the entire school community was plunged into grief.
District Primary Education Officer Muhammad Mosaddeq Hossain confirmed the passing, expressing deep sorrow on behalf of the education department.
Rabiul Alam, a member of the Bakila Union Parishad who was scheduled to attend the ceremony as a guest, remarked that the community never anticipated that the educator’s retirement day would end in such a tragic manner.
Saha is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
