Tourist Express train sustains minor damage in collision with vehicle at Boalkhali rail crossing

A tourist train traveling from Chattogram to Cox’s Bazar collided with a parked human hauler near the Gomdandi railway crossing in Boalkhali Upazila on Monday, causing minor damage to the train but resulting in no injuries.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. as the non-stop Tourist Express train, which had originated from Dhaka, passed through the crossing. The train struck a stationary human hauler positioned near the tracks, which resulted in a portion of a passenger carriage door being sheared off.
Gomdandi Station Master Kanchan Bhattacharjee confirmed that the detached door component was recovered and secured by railway authorities. The human hauler was seized and turned over to local police. Authorities noted that the vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the collision.
Following the incident, the train arrived at Patiya Station at 1:10 p.m. Patiya Station Master Abdus Salam Bhuiyan stated that the train was held at the station for approximately 15 minutes to allow maintenance crews to address the damage. The train subsequently resumed its journey to Cox’s Bazar.
