Actor Hasan Masud dismisses retirement rumors confirms return to acting following Hajj pilgrimage

Popular actor Hasan Masud has dismissed rumors of his permanent retirement from acting, clarifying that his previous comments regarding his career path were misinterpreted. The actor, who recently returned from performing Hajj, addressed the speculation following a viral social media discourse that suggested he was stepping away from the industry to focus solely on religious activities.

In a recent interview, Masud explained that while he had paused his acting career for two years, he never intended to leave the profession indefinitely. He clarified that his previous statements were meant to highlight a current lack of compelling content and his selective approach to projects. Since his return from Hajj, Masud has already appeared in two television commercials, signaling his intent to remain active in the media landscape.

Refuting the narrative that religious devotion and acting are incompatible, Masud stated that he does not perceive a conflict between his faith and his professional life. He emphasized that he has maintained a consistent prayer schedule since 2000, even while on active sets. According to the actor, industry colleagues have historically been supportive of his religious observances, frequently providing breaks to accommodate his prayer times.

Masud’s career began in the military, where he served as a cadet before transitioning into journalism. He made his notable film debut in 2003 with Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s “Bachelor.” His subsequent transition to television brought him significant recognition through popular series such as “Housefull,” “FDC,” “Graduate,” “Ronger Duniya,” “Behind the Scene,” and “Khunsuti.” In addition to his acting credits, he explored his interest in music, releasing an album in 2006.
