Dhaka Metropolitan Police Arrest 466 in Citywide Operation

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 466 individuals during a 24-hour citywide sweep that concluded Wednesday night. The operation, which took place between midnight Tuesday and midnight Wednesday, resulted in the filing of 57 separate criminal cases across various police stations in the capital.
The crackdown spanned multiple administrative divisions, with the Mirpur division recording the highest number of arrests at 115. Other significant operational figures included 74 arrests in Motijheel, 59 in Wari, 53 in Tejgaon, 52 in Uttara, 43 in Gulshan, 30 in Ramna, and 28 in Lalbagh. Additionally, the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit apprehended 11 suspects, while the Detective Branch accounted for one arrest.
In a press statement issued Thursday, DMP officials confirmed that law enforcement officers recovered narcotics and various other illicit items during the course of the operations. Authorities stated that the suspects remain in custody as legal proceedings against them continue.
