Ten-year-old boy dies after goalpost collapse in Bangladeshs Satkania

A 10-year-old boy in Satkania, Chittagong, has died from injuries sustained after a football goalpost collapsed on him while he was playing. The child, Mohammad Enayet Ullah, succumbed to his wounds at the Chittagong Medical College Hospital shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

The incident occurred last Friday afternoon near the boy’s home in the Satpania area of Satkania Municipality. According to family members, Enayet Ullah, a third-grade student at Satkania Town Government Primary School, was hanging from the crossbar of a goalpost on a local turf field when the structure gave way. The falling metal caused severe head trauma and significant blood loss.

In an interview with the local press, the victim’s sister, Afifa Akter, detailed that bystanders rushed the boy to a private clinic immediately following the accident. He was subsequently transferred to the intensive care unit at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where he remained under medical observation until his death.

Local authorities have been notified of the tragedy. Sub-Inspector Sana Ullah of the Satkania Police Station stated that while the department had not received a formal report regarding the accident, officials are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collapse.
