Mostofa Sarwar Farooki dismisses speculation over his future, confirms return to Bangladesh following professional visit to Australia

Filmmaker and former government advisor Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has dismissed mounting speculation regarding his recent travel to Australia, rejecting claims that he does not intend to return to Bangladesh.
The discourse surrounding Farooki’s international visit intensified following commentary from various public figures, including actress Aruna Biswas, which prompted widespread conjecture on social media regarding his future plans. Despite the growing online debate, the director remained silent until addressing the matter directly on Sunday.
In an exchange via WhatsApp, Farooki clarified that his current trip is strictly professional and consistent with his long-standing career as a filmmaker. He emphasized that he maintained an active professional life well before his brief tenure as a government advisor, a role that frequently necessitated international travel.
Farooki stated that his movements remain governed by his work commitments rather than any intention to abandon his domestic ties. He noted that traveling for professional obligations and returning upon their completion has been his standard practice for years, and he expects his current visit to follow that established pattern. He characterized the rumors of his permanent departure as entirely baseless.
