SSC Candidate Killed in Dhaka Following Dispute with Brother

A 17-year-old secondary school student was killed in the capital’s Kalabagan area Sunday night after being struck in the head with a heavy object during a domestic dispute. Local police have taken the victim’s younger brother into custody in connection with the incident.
According to Kalabagan police sub-inspector Shamsul Haque Sumon, the tragedy unfolded around 9:30 p.m. following a heated argument between the two brothers over a trivial matter. During the altercation, the younger sibling allegedly grabbed a heavy iron dumbbell and struck the victim on the head, causing severe injuries.
The victim was rushed to a private hospital in the capital in critical condition. Despite emergency medical efforts, doctors declared him dead at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Authorities have since detained the 16-year-old brother for questioning. In accordance with legal standards and privacy policies regarding minors, the names and identities of both individuals have been withheld.
