Bangladesh Lawmaker Demands Justice for Rape Victim Before Burial

Dhallywood actress Toma Mirza has vehemently demanded swift and exemplary justice for the brutal rape and murder of a child named Ramisa in Dhaka’s Pallabi, using social media to express her profound outrage and call for deterrent punishment for such “vile, sick-minded criminals.” The National Film Award-winning actress urged a system where perpetrators face judgment before their victims are even buried, ensuring that the thought of committing such crimes would never arise.
In a powerful Facebook post, Mirza took a firm stance against the heinous acts of rape and murder, advocating for immediate and decisive action against offenders. She sharply criticized the processes surrounding such cases, questioning the necessity of prolonged investigations, legal defenses for alleged rapists, and any form of delay in delivering justice. “What investigation? What explanation? What lawyer for a rapist? What procrastination?” she wrote, challenging established procedures.

Concluding her emotional appeal, Mirza likened Ramisa to a family member, stating, “Ramisa is my sister, your sister. We demand justice for our sister’s brutal murderer.”
The actress’s call for justice follows the tragic incident in Mirpur’s Pallabi, where Ramisa was raped and subsequently murdered by slitting her throat. The accused, Sohail Rana, has since confessed to the crime in court, admitting that he had consumed Yaba, an illicit stimulant, prior to the horrific act.
