AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju Equates BNP and Awami League, Warning of Public Anger Over Delayed Reforms

FENI, BANGLADESH — Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju launched a scathing critique against the country’s major traditional political forces, asserting that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the Awami League share identical bourgeois characteristics and a deep-seated reliance on dynastic family leadership. Speaking as the chief guest at a political workshop organized by the Feni district unit of the AB Party, Manju warned that the general public will ultimately judge the two parties based on tangible performance across four critical areas of governance: corruption, partisanship, terrorism, and skyrocketing inflation.
Addressing the audience at the party’s district office on Mizan Road, the AB Party chief emphasized that citizens are closely monitoring the post-2024 mass uprising environment to see if genuine structural updates have taken place. He cautioned that if ordinary people fail to perceive a definitive departure from past governing practices, deep public frustration and anger will inevitably force them to completely rethink their political allegiances.

Reviewing the political ecosystem during his key address, Manju offered a candid assessment of the challenges faced by newer political platforms. He noted that breaking new ground within an entrenched, outdated political structure has yielded limited success, as a viable alternative to the legacy parties has yet to fully mature.
“Those recognized as loan defaulters, corrupt actors, ultra-wealthy tycoons, and historic oppressors—alongside those who successfully capitalize on the religious emotions of the masses—managed to secure the people’s votes once again,” Manju observed. “However, looking closely at the election data, the public’s growing interest in fresh political faces is undeniable. If we can systematically organize and strengthen this potential in the coming days, the victory of a new political paradigm is absolutely inevitable.”

Turning to state structural transitions, the AB Party Chairman expressed deep regret over the rushed electoral timeline. He revealed that his party had actively advocated for postponing the general elections to allow the interim administration sufficient time to execute deep institutional cleanups. In contrast, the BNP aggressively demanded immediate polls, recognizing that thorough structural adjustments would fundamentally challenge their electoral prospects.
Manju asserted that had the proposed systemic updates been successfully implemented, at least 150 current BNP lawmakers would have been disqualified from contesting the elections. He concluded that the existing framework remains heavily skewed to favor established legacy parties, reiterating that true national reform will remain entirely impossible until the underlying system itself is fundamentally transformed.
The strategic political workshop was presided over by Feni District AB Party Senior Convenor Aflatun Baki and moderated by District Member Secretary Lecturer Fazlul Haque. The event featured special addresses from the party’s Chittagong Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary Shah Alam and District Convener Ahsan Ullah.
The high-level organizational session was also attended by Joint Member Secretary Nazrul Islam, Finance Secretary Shah Alam Shaheen Sultani, Organizing Secretary Mir Iqbal, Office Secretary Najrana Hafeez, Social Welfare Secretary AB Siddique, AB Youth Party Convener Shafiullah Parvez, and Member Secretary Ibrahim Sohag, alongside more than two hundred grassroots activists and executive representatives from various sub-units across the Feni district.
