A worker’s throat slit body was recovered from the toilet of a hostel in the capital’s Kamrangirchar. His name is Yakub Ali (25). He lived in an employee hostel of an organization.

Yakub Ali was rescued by his colleagues at midnight on Wednesday and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Doctors on duty there declared him dead.

Yakub Ali used to work in Matador Group. The office of the organization is next to his hostel.

Yakub Ali was taken to the hospital by Bazlur Rahman, the assistant manager of the company. He told Prothom Alo that the toilet door was open.  Two blades were found lying there. However, he could not tell anything about how the incident happened.

Yakub Ali’s elder brother came to the hospital after receiving the news. Orphan. He said, seeing the body, he felt that Yakub was killed by slitting his throat. Yakub was the youngest of three brothers.

Kamrangirchar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Golam Farooq told Prothom Alo on Thursday morning that Yakub told his colleagues that he was unwell. After the investigation, you can tell whether the incident is murder or suicide.
