Submerged Passenger Bus Recovered from Padma River at Daulatdia Ferry Terminal

A passenger bus plunged into the Padma River at the Daulatdia ferry terminal in Rajbari on Friday morning after losing control while attempting to board a ferry. The accident occurred at approximately 9:40 a.m. when the SB Super Deluxe vehicle broke through the ramp and slid from the pontoon into the water.

Authorities confirmed that the driver and his assistant were successfully rescued immediately following the incident. Fortunately, the vehicle was empty of passengers at the time of the crash, preventing any potential casualties.

Emergency response teams launched an operation to recover the submerged vehicle, which concluded about two and a half hours later. At approximately 12:00 p.m., the salvage vessel Hamza successfully winched the bus from the river and placed it onto the K-type ferry Karobi, which was docked at the terminal.
