The wood of the bridge was taken away due to a dispute over sewing wages

A woman went to the tailors in the market to make a burqa. The woman engaged in a discussion with the tailor owner about the wages. At one point, the owner tried to kill the woman with the scissors in his hand. The woman told the family members about the incident after returning home. Later the family members got angry and attacked the shop with a group. As a result of this, the wood of a part of the bridge built with the cooperation of everyone socially took place at night.
This incident happened last Saturday night, in Kazirkandi village of Charanchal Alokbali Union of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. Local people saw the broken part while traveling on that bridge early Sunday morning. The people of Alokbali Union are asking to know what is wrong with the bridge with the status on social media Facebook. Later, however, wood was added.
According to police and local sources, yesterday afternoon a woman from neighboring Satpara village went to Sumna Tailors of Kazirkandi village of Alokbali Union to make a burqa. Tailor owner Sohrab Hossain had a discussion with the woman about the burqa sewing wages. At one stage he abused the woman. Sohrab was accused of intending to injure with scissors in his hand. The woman returned home and informed the family members about the incident.
That evening, family members including the woman’s husband went to the shop to talk to Sohrab about the matter. During a heated exchange between the two sides, Sohrab was beaten up and his shop vandalized. During the night Sohrab’s supporters vandalized the wooden bridge leading to the attackers’ village. They removed the wood of the bridge.
Nasir Uddin, general secretary of the implementation committee of the wooden bridge, said that the 100-meter long wooden bridge was constructed at a cost of around 2 million taka with the cooperation of everyone. Our heart is bleeding over the trivial matter of removing the timber of the bridge. This incident is very sad. Those who did not cooperate with us during the construction of the bridge have removed the timber of the bridge. Later, in the face of criticism, they again put the wood of the bridge.
According to Alokbali Union BNP member secretary Abdul Qayyum Sarkar, this unexpected incident happened with the wages of sewing a burqa. A third party took advantage of this. They took away the wood of the wooden bridge built with the financing of expatriates and local people. The administration should investigate who is involved in this incident and take necessary measures.
When asked, Alokbali Union Beat Police Officer and Narsingdi Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna Das said that the timber of the bridge was removed due to a dispute over burqa sewing wages. Later, they also installed the wood taken from the bridge. No written complaint was received in this incident.
