Emergency warning issued for expatriate Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia
The Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah has advised the Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia to abide by the laws there. A circular on Monday (September 28) issued some urgent instructions for expatriates.
No such post or video can be posted on Facebook, YouTube or X. Even like, comment or share any such post should be avoided. It is prohibited to sign or fingerprint any paper that cannot be read properly. In particular, white paper cannot be signed.
It has been asked to refrain from buying a sim, car or any other thing in someone else's name with one's iqama. Besides, working in one place or one owner's iqama in another place, picking up and selling things lying on the street, doing business without permission or selling water illegally are punishable offences.
It is said to beware of illegal dealings with acquaintances or strangers and false lure of employment. According to the consulate, if the law is followed, the lives of expatriates will be safe, as well as the name of the country will shine abroad.
