Police recover 334 bullets from construction site in Bogura city center

Police in Bogura recovered 334 bullets on Saturday after construction workers unearthed the cache while digging a drainage trench in the city’s central Satmatha district.
The discovery was made around midday near the wall of the Zila School. Workers engaged in a city corporation drainage project encountered the ammunition while excavating soil, prompting an immediate gathering of onlookers and a subsequent report to local authorities.
Bogura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ibrahim Ali confirmed the recovery of the 334 rounds. He stated that the police have taken the ammunition into custody for forensic analysis to determine their origin, age, and potential connection to any past criminal or historical events.
Satmatha serves as a major intersection for Bogura city, with several primary roads converging at the site. Given the high volume of daily pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the area, the discovery has sparked significant public interest and local speculation.
Residents noted that while the Satmatha area has undergone frequent infrastructure development over the years, the discovery of such a substantial quantity of ammunition remains highly unusual. Authorities have not yet established how or when the cache was buried at the site. The investigation is ongoing as officials wait for the results of the forensic examination.
