Qatari Prime Minister Condemns Israeli Strikes in Doha, Accuses Netanyahu of Crossing Red Lines
Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has strongly condemned an Israeli attack in Doha, declaring that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu crossed a red line. The remarks were made during a recent interview on the Piers Morgan Uncensored program, addressing the military strike that occurred on September 9 of last year.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the assault took place while Qatar was actively engaged in mediation between the warring factions and attempting to advance proposals put forward by then-United States President Donald Trump. Characterizing the strike as entirely unacceptable, the Qatari premier warned that such hostile actions establish a dangerous precedent in international diplomacy by targeting a mediator, an occurrence he noted is unprecedented in the history of warfare.
He further cautioned that attacking a nation fulfilling a diplomatic mediation role not only severely undermines ongoing peace efforts but also casts a long shadow over future initiatives aimed at resolving conflicts. The prime minister reiterated that this breach threatens the foundation of international conflict resolution channels.
Following the strike last year, the office of the Israeli prime minister acknowledged that the operation was carried out independently by Israel, which took full responsibility for the decision and execution. Prime Minister Netanyahu and then-Defense Minister Israel Katz defended the action as justified, claiming that the Hamas leadership based in Doha was directly linked to orchestrating the October 7 attacks and continuing hostile operations against Israel.
